At Altona North Primary School,Our REACH Values underpin the way we learn, work and interact with one another:
R - Respect, E - Excellence, A - Acceptance, C - Community and H - Honesty.
Our REACH Values are shared across our whole school community to promote positive behaviour, strengthen relationships and provide students with clear and consistent expectations for how we conduct ourselves at school.
Our Positive Behaviour Matrix outlines ehat these values look, sound and feel like in different settings across our school.it provides students with clear examples of behaviours we expect and supports all staff to use consistent language and expectations.
Importantly, the matrix also enables us to recognise, praise and reward students who clearly demonstrate our REACH Values. We want to celebrate the many positive choices our students make each day and acknowledge these who contribute to making Altona North Primary School a respectful, accepting and supportive community.
We are pleased to share our behaviour expectations with families and look forward to working together to ensure our REACH Values remain and meningful and integral part of everyday like at Altona North Primary School.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us promote positive behaviour and uphold our shared values.

As part of our commitment to a safe, positive and supportive learning environment,we have developed a whole-school Responding to Behaviour flowchart.
The flowchart works alongside our positive Behaviour Matrix to provide staff with a clear and consistent approach to responding when behaviours do not meet our school expectations.
This shared approach provides students with greater clarity, fairness and consistency, regardless of their classroom or year level.Importantly, out responses are designed to be educational and restorative, supporting students to understand expectations, take responsibility for their choices and develop positive behaviour.
