Our Prep students develop strong foundations in literacy and numeracy through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Students build confidence in reading, writing and mathematics while exploring their world through hands on and inquiry learning. Prep student stake part in daily 1 hour phonics plus lessons, where they build their reading, sounding, spelling and handwriting skills. Students also participate in specialist programs and develop important social, emotional and personal skills that support a positive start to school. Auslan lessons are conducted weekly in association with Auslan Education Services. Lessons are linked to the Victorian curriculum 2.0.
The Prep unit is taught in single year classes. Prep students begin their journey at school learning the curriculum alongside building valuable social skills.
